Body Discovered in Vehicle Linked to Singer D4vd Identified as Disappeared Teen
Authorities in the US have revealed that decomposing a body discovered in a car registered to artist D4vd have been identified as a previously disappeared teenage female.
Law enforcement personnel located the remains of Celeste Rivas inside the trunk of an impounded Tesla on 8 September, after investigating complaints of a strong odor at a Hollywood tow yard.
Authorities indicated that both the manner and date of her death are still undetermined.
Rivas, from Lake Elsinore in California, was 13 at the moment of her disappearance and was last seen on 5 April 2024, as stated in a public flyer.
Previously, police noted that the Tesla had likely been at the tow yard for "several days" before the discovery.
The vehicle, which bears a Texas registration, was removed from the Hills area after being abandoned five days earlier.
The car is under the name of 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, the legal name of recording artist D4vd.
Last week, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported that the person whose remains were found was 5ft 2in tall, had curly black hair, and was clad in a tube top and black leggings.
It was noted that the remains had a inking on the right forefinger that read: "Shhh."
The body were not intact, and it seemed the girl had been dead for an lengthy duration of time, according to police insiders.
D4vd, who has a large number of fans on social media, is most famous for his viral hits "Here With Me" and "Romantic Homicide".
He released his first album in April and was touring when the remains were discovered in the Tesla. The concert scheduled show in Seattle on Wednesday was called off.
Police say that D4vd is working together with the inquiry.
