An extensive group of progressive charitable foundations has united in publishing a formal letter condemning extremist attacks and raising alarm over expected regulatory measures aimed at ideological funding.

The document highlights that such violence does not belong in an open democracy, and opposes any attempt to capitalize on deadly occurrences to curtail freedom of speech or philanthropic freedom.

“The United States is established on the idea that each individual has the right to express their beliefs, especially if others disagree,” the signatories declare.

The signatories further caution that non-profits must not be attacked for pursuing their missions or assisting vulnerable groups.

The statement is in response to recent remarks from high-level officials implying a possible suppression on liberal-aligned entities accused of promoting extremism.

In an earlier podcast appearance, a prominent official asserted that certain media were funded by backing by major philanthropic groups, an accusation that was strongly contested by the implicated institutions.

Through their statement, the signing entities urged social reconciliation and emphasized their dedication to advancing diverse communities without fear.
